Why this model
Dark grey earbuds with a dial, noise cancellation up to 50 dB and the LDAC codec.
If you can give a teenager only one thing for St Nicholas, make it the instax mini 13: you switch it on by turning the lens, it sets exposure and flash on its own, and the print comes out of the camera and develops in about 90 seconds. A gift that gets shared from the morning of 6 December, and that happily does without a screen.
For a teenager who lives with music in their ears, the dark grey CMF Buds Pro 2 have real personality, with their dial on the case and noise cancellation up to 50 dB. For the one who likes to make things, Teenage Engineering’s Pocket Operator PO-33 K.O! is a small pocket sampler for building their own tracks.

What matters when choosing
- An object they want to show off
- As a teenager, how a thing looks matters as much as what it does. A bold design, a strong colour or an intriguing look is what gets it out of the pocket rather than into a drawer.
- Useful without a 40-page manual
- The gift is unwrapped in the morning and should work that same day. All three start quickly, even if the sampler asks for a little curiosity to go further.
- What to buy alongside
- Film, batteries, a compatible phone: each card says what is not in the box, to avoid disappointment when it is opened.
