What matters when choosing
- Lux always paired with a distance
- A figure of 10,000 lux means nothing without the measuring distance: the further away you sit, the lower the intensity. Compare lamps at the same distance, and look at where you will actually be sitting.
- Comfortable light for working
- At the desk, the lamp stays on while you read or type. UV-free, flicker-free light with good colour rendering (high CRI) is less tiring than a simple, very powerful panel.
- Space and looks on the desk
- A lamp you find ugly ends up put away, and a missed session does nothing. Pick a size that fits your desk and that you are happy to leave out on display.
